Our Background

From Newcastle upon Tyne our involvement in racing started through a syndicate of friends back in the 90s. Following almost 20 years away from ownership, in 2017 we decided the time was right to get back into the game. What started with a small share in one horse trained by Brian Ellison (Malton, North Yorkshire) has since grown to involvement in over 20 horses in the time since. We currently have 7 UK horses in training, all with Brian including the twice G1 placed and Ascot Gold Cup fifth Tashkhan (IRE) and Group 3 Geelong Cup winner Onesmoothoperator (USA).

We are also represented on the USA steeplechase scene by two of our previous UK horses, Gordon's Jet (IRE) & Cool Jet (IRE). Formerly trained by Brian they now run under the ownership of Sean Clancy's Riverdee Stable and are trained by Hall of Famer & fourteen-time winning most trainer, Jack Fisher. Following Gordon's Jet's 4 wins in the UK & Ireland, between himself and Cool Jet they have a further 4 wins & 3 places from only 11 starts in the USA winning prize money in excess of $170k.

Having owned a couple of mares, in 2023 we decided to take a leap into the world of breeding. Starting in Spring 2024 we have the recently retired three-times winner My Roxanne (IRE) (in foal to Native Trail), alongside proven broodmares Katiola (IRE) and Hidden Gem (GB) who were purchased this Winter. We currently have two foals: a March Colt by State Of Rest out of Hidden Gem and an April Filly by Space Blues out of Katiola. Our Mares & Foals are in the care of Tom Abel Smith of Carrington Bloodstock. Looking to the future, we have several 2yo & 3yo fillies in training who may well join our broodmare ranks in 2025 and beyond.

All purchases are made with the help of David Appleton who identified many of our horses including Tashkhan & Onesmoothoperator. David also provides us with consultancy services relating to the management of our racehorses and breeding stock.
